It is made up of 2 loudspeakers with a full range suspensionless loudspeaker 21 Model 7 with carbon technology associated to two 30 Model 7 sub-woofers (see technical specifications).
We are therefore talking of a bi-amplified two ways system. The transducers are driven by a corrective system for which several solutions exist depending on budget. The correction may be either passive through an analogue filter or active through a digital equalizer. Just as for the system 21, the latter method, which also carries out the digital to analogue conversion, allows for a greater precision of setting. It is simply important to note that the balancing of the two ways is very delicate to prevent the distortion induced by the « phase rotation » effect. The digital option is highly recommended.
The amplification is set by two amplifiers, a tube one for the medium-high levels, the other a digital Class D for the low frequencies. Although the result depends on the quality of the amplifiers, it is at any level exceptional. Out of the most musical solutions, one of the most delicate is obtained with a single-ended 300B tube amplifier. Several brands of 300B tubes are possible depending on one’s musical choices. This configuration allows us to listen with clarity, precision and power from the acoustic guitars and japanese drums to the greatest symphonic ensembles and the most impressive organs, whether European or American.
